Tapputi began with a journey through Egypt—and a discovery that would change the way we experience fragrance.
Perfume did not begin in Paris. Its story reaches back thousands of years to ancient Egypt, where fragrance was created from precious oils, flowers, fruits and plants. It was an art form: deeply personal, carefully crafted and rich with meaning.
Tapputi brings that extraordinary fragrance heritage to South Africa through authentic, A-Grade Egyptian Perfume Oils—undiluted, alcohol-free and made without water.

Fragrance in Its Purest Form
Unlike conventional spray perfumes, Tapputi’s highly concentrated oils do not rely on alcohol or water. The result is a rich fragrance that develops beautifully on the skin, wears close to the body and can last for up to 12 hours, depending on your skin and chosen scent.
Our perfume oils are manufactured in Egypt by one of the largest and most technologically advanced fragrance manufacturers in the Middle East. Each fragrance is fully macerated, filtered and quality-tested before reaching Tapputi. No further maturing or dilution is required.
The finished oils are imported directly from Egypt and carefully hand-poured in South Africa into our distinctive, hand-painted vintage-style glass bottles.

Our name honours Tapputi Belatekallim, the world’s first recorded female perfumer and chemist, whose pioneering work was documented around 1200 BC.
